Dave’s Magical Top Ten of 2014

By coincidence this is my 100th post on the DRB(Dave’s Records Blog) and with careful planning it will be my 10,oooth tweet…thus this is a magical list filled with mojo for 2015…or not. So here are my favorites that spent the most time on the turntable for ME. I will list them alphabetically as I just got done inventorying and restocking after the holiday rush…THANK YOU ALL! It was worth the work. I am in alphabet mode so her are my TOP TEN of 2014….

Ryan Adams – S/T

Against Me – Transgender Dysphoria Blues

Allah Las – Worship The Sun

Beck – Morning Phase

Black Keys – Turn Blue

Flying Lotus – You’re Dead

Lydia Loveless – Somewhere Else

Angel Olson – Burn Your Fire For No Witness

New Pornographers – Brill Bruisers

Sturgill Simpson – Metamodern Sounds in Country Music

So there you go…and since 2015 is now upon us I will add 5 more that I toyed with….

V/A While No One Was Looking: Toasting Twenty Years of Bloodshot Records

Beck – Song Reader

First Aid Kit – Stay Gold

Mark Kozelek – Benji

Chrissie Hynde – Stockholm

Take it for what it’s worth…disagree if you want but it just doesn’t matter because it’s my list. If you track back through previous years I have a pretty good record…although I think my lists from the MySpace days may be gone to history but those were good too…I think. Brace yourselves for 2015. I think there may be some good ones in the pipeline…
