Here it is the LEAST INFLUENTIAL of all year end best of 2012 lists…Dave’s Favorites for 2012! TA-DAH!

Back from holiday and it is time to do some housekeeping and clean up last year so we can begin fresh in 2013.  This is my personal best of list which includes the things I could just not get off my turntable. They all sounded good on first listen and continued to age nicely with repeated plays. Mmmm…like a fine wine. Except I hate wine but if I appreciated a good vintage, these would be high priced when you ordered them up because you would appreciate them more and more with each tasting. I expanded the list to 13 for 2012 because of Neil. He frustrates me because on vinyl the track “Driftin Back” clocking in at 27 minutes and 39 seconds fades out on one side like on an 8-track and then finishes on the flipside. Grrrrr! But it is soooooo good anyway. These are in no particular order but all deserve a seat at the Best Of table… Let’s hope 2013 brings us more, more, more!!!

Kelly Hogan – I Like To Keep Myself In Pain

Jack White – Blunderbuss

First Aid Kit – The Lion’s Roar

Megan Reilly – The Well

Cory Brannan – Mutt

Robert Glasper Experiment – Black Radio

Justin Townes Earle – Nothing’s Going to Change The Way You Feel About Me Now

Alabama Shakes – Boys & Girls

Dr. John – Locked Down

Spiritualized – Sweet Heart, Sweet Light

Explorers Club – Grand Hotel

Sharon Van Etten – Tramp

Neil Young – Psychedelic Pill
