Year End House Cleaning – TOP TWELVE Best Sellers at Dave’s Records for 2012

About a week to go in the year and it’s safe to post the list of best sellers for 2012. I will wait until January 2 to post my personal best of list for 2012. I like to wait until the year is out because you never know what might slip in under the wire. I’m also anal about calling it the best of 2012 and putting it out before 2012 is over. That list will give you something to do if you are going through list withdrawl after New Year’s Day. The creep on best of lists has been going on for awhile but I think I saw best of lists as early as the day after Thanksgiving. It seems unfair to cut 1/12 of the year off of the year’s releases. Oh well, that gives me a clear shot at being the last best of 2012 list to cap off the year. Until then here is a list of the Top 12 Best Sellers as chosen by you the magnificent customers of Dave’ s Records. None of these could be knocked off by a huge last week surge by any other title so we will go ahead with an early release on this list. Thanks for a great 2012…so far.

1) Jack White – Blunderbuss

2) Florence and the Machine – Ceremoials

3) Muse – The 2nd Law

4) First Aid Kit – The Lion’s Roar

5) The xx – Coexist

6) Alabama Shakes – Boys and Girls

7) Mumford and Sons – Babel

8) Avett Brothers – The Carpenter

9) Tame Impala – Lonerism

10) Godspeed You Black Emperor – ‘Allelujah! Don’t Ascend Bend

11) Bon Iver – For Emma, For Ever Ago

12) Amy Winehouse – Back To Black

So there you have it. That is what we kept restocking and restocking and you just couldn’t get enough of for this year. What will it be in 2013…only time will tell like Etta says!
