Vinyl MIA’s for 2011

Here is a list I thought would be instructive. It is a list of things from 2011 that people have asked for but never made it to the vinyl format as far as I know. I’m not suggesting that every release should be on vinyl. No Justin Bieber-OK but no Roots…not OK! It is always puzzling when artists that are suited to vinyl or artists whose last release or who have had the majority of their catalog on vinyl suddenly come up missing in action with no real information as to why. A small delay in time is OK and understandable with the growth of vinyl. When it goes outside the realm of a couple of months, then we play the guessing game. Will it or won’t it? Hopefully, someday there will be a database of the vinyl release dates so that we can give customers accurate information. It is always tough on release date having to go on autopilot and saying that release dates are based on the CD release of the album and that the vinyl will surely follow. When there is info it is that bad. Vinyl people will wait. But when it is TBD that is the worst. Hopefully there will be a minimum of TBD’s in 2012. Here is my list as far as I can remember. I only listed albums that made it on to year end lists. There are a lot of things that didn’t make it to vinyl but no one asked about. Let me know if I am incorrect about any of these or add your own if you like.
